Two government ministers disagree over forced labour in NZ

NZ First's Shane Jones says the Bay of Plenty kiwifruit industry uses "medieval slave practices." That contradicts Trade Minister Todd McClay, who said in July forced labour "doesn't exist in New Zealand." Jones wants the rules around Zespri — the company that controls kiwifruit exports — reviewed. Zespri says it kicks out anyone doing the wrong thing.
