U.S. aid freeze leaves Ghana with $78.2M health funding gap, threatening child vaccines

USAID, the U.S. government's foreign aid agency, has suspended funding, leaving Ghana with a $78.2 million health shortfall. In northern Ghana, 75 percent of districts surveyed report delayed or irregular vaccine deliveries, partly because refrigerated storage and transport systems are strained. Ghana was among the first African countries to roll out a malaria vaccine, previously tied to preventing about one in eight child deaths.
