Fuel tax rise unlikely in January, but not yet confirmed

Finance minister Nicola Willis says a planned 12-cent-per-litre fuel tax rise won't go ahead on 1 January, but the decision isn't final. The government needs to decide by 31 August so Treasury can include it in a pre-election economic update — a report on the country's finances ahead of voting.
