Cracked Blade Caused Ryanair Engine Blowout, Investigators Say

A cracked fan blade triggered an engine blowout on Ryanair flight FR1879 from Thessaloniki to Memmingen on 10 July 2026, U.S. investigators found. Flying debris broke a cabin window; passenger Ljubisa Karović, 61, was partly sucked out before others pulled him back. Pilots declared an emergency and landed safely in Thessaloniki.
