Do new energy rules really add $33,000 to a house? The evidence says no

The Coalition says rules requiring new homes to be more energy-efficient add $33,000 to each build. The government says the latest upgrade costs under 1 per cent. The RBA and CSIRO — two independent bodies — found past rule changes barely raised costs, and sometimes lowered them. The Coalition hasn't addressed that evidence.
