Trump's noncitizen voter claims swell from 6,600 to 278,000 — with no methodology shown
New Jersey confirmed 6,600 noncitizens were erroneously registered via a software error, with fewer than 400 voting. Trump separately claimed 35,152 on Truth Social and 278,000 in a July 16 primetime address. A Guardian review of DHS letters found the agency offered no methodology and expressed less certainty than Trump's rhetoric suggested. FactCheck.org and Deutsche Welle have separately scrutinized the claims.
