Ghanaian Nationals File ICC Petition Alleging Systematic Attacks on Migrants in South Africa
Two Ghanaian nationals filed an ICC petition alleging a "pattern of widespread and systematic attacks" against migrants in South Africa, which is a Rome Statute party. The ICC has not said whether it will consider the filing. South Africa's foreign ministry called the petition "opportunistic" and affirmed its judicial system would hold perpetrators accountable. ECOWAS condemned the reported attacks on West African citizens.
