Badenoch tells Burnham to rule out autumn tax rises, calling early pledges a 'spending spree'

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch used a speech in London to accuse Prime Minister Andy Burnham of behaving as though still mayor of Greater Manchester. She branded his early policy promises a "spending spree" and demanded he rule out tax rises at the autumn Budget. "We have seen this movie before," she said. "Tax rises are coming."
