Waymo plans to test factory-integrated Toyota bZ4X robotaxis in Japan in 2027

Waymo plans to begin testing autonomous Toyota bZ4X vehicles in Japan in 2027. Toyota will build the vehicles at its Takaoka factory and integrate Waymo's self-driving system there. The Japan program is intended to lead to a commercial robotaxi service, and the vehicles are also intended for other right-hand-drive markets such as the U.K.
