U.S. 30-Year Treasury Yield Touches Highest Level Since 2002

The U.S. 30-year Treasury yield touched a high not seen since 2002 on October 1, then eased 3.33 basis points to 5.6057%, Reuters reported. A basis point is one hundredth of a percentage point. Yields rise as bond prices fall, and long-dated Treasury yields help set rates on many mortgages and corporate loans.
