Wildlife Trusts raise £30m to buy Rothbury estate in Northumberland

The Wildlife Trusts, nature charities, have raised £30m to buy the 3,800-hectare Rothbury estate in north-east England. Put up for sale by Max Percy, son of the Duke of Northumberland, it is the largest single-owner land sale in England in over 30 years. £17m of the £30m came from the public, and David Attenborough championed the bid.
