Federal judge rejects Justice Department bid to set aside California ballots
A federal judge in California rejected a Justice Department request to set aside ballots of thousands of voters. The request was based on a list of 20,000 names federal officials described as likely noncitizens. Judge David O. Carter found no legal basis for it and said the list was not shown to be reliable. The department is appealing.
