Ford's Planned Fathom Pickup Builds Its Inverter Into the Truck
Ford's planned $28,000 Fathom electric pickup builds its inverter into the onboard "E-box," producing more than 10 kW of AC power natively. The discontinued F-150 Lightning needed an external DC-to-AC wall inverter. The Fathom can power household loads, back up a home, or export to the grid, which requires the Ford Home Power Station. Arrival is slated for late 2027.
