Barclays Cut About 5,000 Jobs in 2023 Under Cost-Cutting Drive

Barclays reduced its workforce by around 5,000 jobs in 2023 as part of a cost-cutting drive, Reuters reported on 8 January 2024. The final figure exceeds the up to 2,000 cuts Reuters reported in November 2023, when the bank was still preparing a plan to save up to £1 billion.
