Stealth AI lab Flapping Airplanes claims humans are up to 1,000,000x more sample efficient than AI models

Flapping Airplanes, a year-old lab describing itself as a "frontier data efficiency lab" still in stealth, claims humans are 100,000x-1,000,000x more sample efficient than existing AI models. The company says it is not currently commercializing its work. Its $1 billion Series A, co-led by Index and Lux at a reported $6 billion valuation, was announced October 21, 2026.
