Bad Trip Went From a 2019 Orion Release Slot to Netflix After Pandemic Delays

Bad Trip, Kitao Sakurai's second feature, was first slated for a 2019 theatrical release through MGM's Orion Pictures. It moved to 2020 with a South by Southwest premiere set for March. The pandemic derailed those plans. Amazon Prime Video accidentally made the film available, and Netflix acquired it for a 2021 streaming release, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
