Mont Blanc measured at 4,807.47 metres, down 1.29 metres from 2025

Haute-Savoie surveyors measured Mont Blanc at 4,807.47 metres, 1.29 metres lower than in 2025. The teams used satellite technology and drones to model the snow and ice cap over rock estimated at about 4,792 metres. The summit remains 3.43 metres below its 2007 high. I see the year-to-year shifts as normal variability, not a steady annual decline.
