
Delhi deploys thousands of police, closes 60 metro stations ahead of Oct. 10 voter-roll protest
Delhi police denied permission for an Oct. 10 Jantar Mantar demonstration by the Cockroach Janta Party and student group AISA over voter-roll cuts, and deployed thousands of police and paramilitary under a 37-point plan. Authorities cancelled trains and closed 60 metro stations ahead of the protest aimed at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
