Delhi denies permit for Oct. 10 voter-roll protest, closes 60 metro stations

Delhi police denied permission for an Oct. 10 protest at Jantar Mantar, the capital's protest site, by the Cockroach Janta Party and student group AISA over voter-roll cuts. Thousands of police and paramilitary deployed under a 37-point plan, with trains cancelled and 60 metro stations closed. The protest is aimed at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, who runs elections.
