Hurricane Isaias Makes Landfall Near Destin as Category 2

Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin, Florida at 9:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 9 as a Category 2 storm, the National Hurricane Center said. The first Atlantic hurricane of 2026, it peaked earlier on Oct. 9 as a major Category 3. Surge up to 7 feet was forecast along the Alabama-Florida line.
