England's largest secondary heads' union passes no confidence in Ofsted leadership
England's Association of School and College Leaders passed a motion of no confidence in Ofsted's leadership. Its council said it had no confidence in leadership's ability to address damage from the new inspection regime. The union called the system "an overbearing mess" and urged a pause in inspections. Ofsted's survey found 88% of schools reported inspections negatively affected staff wellbeing.
