Northern Ireland Secretary Bans Drumcree Parade Past Garvaghy Road

Northern Ireland Secretary Sir Chris Bryant banned the Drumcree Orange Order march past Garvaghy Road in Portadown on 9 October 2026. Bryant said no accommodation was found between the Orange Order and nationalist residents and proceeding was not in the public interest. The order, under Section 11, followed a police request to review a Parades Commission ruling allowing the march.
