UK Blocks Drumcree Orange Parade Past Garvaghy Road

Sir Chris Bryant, Northern Ireland Secretary, banned the Drumcree Orange Order parade past Garvaghy Road in Portadown on 9 October 2026. He said marchers and nationalist residents reached no deal and the parade was not in public interest. Using Section 11 powers, he overruled a Parades Commission, the parade regulator, approval after police asked for a review.
