Thailand's Queen Suthida completes first solo Gripen fighter flight

Thailand's Queen Suthida flew solo in a JAS 39C Gripen fighter jet on 8 October 2026, according to the Thai Royal Household. The 41-minute flight took off from Surat Thani province in southern Thailand, with King Maha Vajiralongkorn watching from the ground. She had completed Royal Thai Air Force conversion training before the flight.
