WoF checks shift to two-yearly for cars aged 4 to 14 from November

New cars will not need a second Warrant of Fitness for four years, and cars aged 4 to 14 will move from annual to two-yearly checks from 1 November 2026, according to NZTA and RNZ. Associate Transport Minister James Meager said the changes were a commonsense opportunity to modernise vehicle inspection.
