Canada still undecided on rejoining China-led infrastructure bank

Ottawa has yet to decide whether to reactivate its membership in the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, nearly 3.5 years after suspending government-led activity. Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne's office says the freeze ordered by Chrystia Freeland in June 2023 remains in place while a review continues. Canada joined in 2018 with a US$995-million, one-per-cent stake.
