Canada still waiting to decide on China-led building bank

Ottawa has not decided whether to rejoin the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the China-led bank that pays for building projects, almost 3.5 years after pausing government work. The pause ordered by Chrystia Freeland in June 2023 remains while a review continues, Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne's office says. Canada joined in 2018, paying US$995 million for a one-per-cent share.
