
Cockroach Janata Party says 10,000 detained in protests demanding election chief resign
Cockroach Janata Party says authorities have detained at least 10,000 protesters across India, spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said Oct. 8. The detentions include students, grassroots groups and opposition supporters demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar resign over removal of 130 million names from voter lists. The party says spokesman Deepak Baliyan is in custody.
