450,000 Protested Across France on Oct. 6, Organizers Say

Organizers said 450,000 people demonstrated across France on Oct. 6 over teacher shortages and overcrowded classrooms; the Interior Ministry counted 266,000, including 56,000 in Paris. The high-school mobilization has spread to more than 40 cities, with blockades disrupting hundreds of schools.
