Two men jailed indefinitely as teens freed after 20 years
Luke Ings and Liam Bennett, who committed offences at 17 leading to minimum terms of 21 and 24 months, were freed at 38 with no further supervision. Wolverhampton Crown Court quashed the indefinite sentences, finding no proper basis for dangerousness. The cases stem from imprisonment for public protection sentences, introduced in 2005 and abolished in 2012 without retrospective effect.
