
Christa Pike conscious and speaking after surviving Tennessee execution attempt
Christa Pike, 50, survived two doses of pentobarbital in Tennessee's 30 September execution attempt. Witnesses said she choked and struggled for an hour. As of 6 October, attorneys say she is conscious, speaking and in critical care with severe arm damage, handcuffed and shackled to her hospital bed.
