Kosovo elects Justina Shiroka Pula president by one vote, avoiding snap election
Kosovo's Assembly elected Justina Shiroka Pula president early Oct. 7 with 81 votes, one above the 80-vote threshold, just before the constitutional deadline. The last-minute deal between ruling Vetevendosje and opposition PDK averted early parliamentary elections. The presidency is largely ceremonial, but failure to elect would have forced a snap vote.
