French 10-year yield settles at 4.865%, near 24-year high
France's 10-year government borrowing cost settled at 4.865% on Oct. 6 after touching 4.925% intraday, little changed from Friday and near a 24-year high, the Wall Street Journal reported. Yield means the annual return investors demand. At these levels, Paris pays more to borrow, pressure that can reach households through loans and mortgages.
