Former Broome bishop jailed six and a half years for abusing two Aboriginal men

Former Broome Catholic bishop Christopher Alan Saunders, 76, was sentenced to six years and six months for 13 sex offences against two young Aboriginal men between 2008 and 2019. A Western Australian District Court jury convicted him of sexual penetration without consent and 12 indecent assaults. He will be eligible for parole after four years and six months.
