Former Broome Church Leader Jailed for Sexual Abuse

Ex-Broome Catholic bishop, a senior church leader, Christopher Alan Saunders, 76, was jailed six-and-a-half years for 13 sexual crimes against two young Aboriginal men between 2008 and 2019. A Western Australia court jury of citizens convicted him of forced sex and 12 counts of unwanted touching. He can seek early release, or parole, after four-and-a-half years.
