Auckland mayor calls National's $1.75b Mill Road plan 'idiotic'

Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown has called National's $1.75 billion Mill Road project "idiotic", telling RNZ's Morning Report central government politicians should stop making promises Aucklanders would have to pay for. National says it would fund construction from the 2028 Budget if it leads the next government. Transport spokesperson Chris Bishop said the party is getting on with it.
