Parti Québécois wins 59-seat minority in Quebec election

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon led the Parti Québécois to victory in Quebec's Oct. 5, 2026 election, taking 59 seats to form a minority government. The party won 28% of the popular vote, a record-low winning share. The Quebec Liberals took 40 seats. Plamondon, deputy for Camille-Laurin, spoke to supporters in Montreal.
