Denmark confirms theft of 8.8 million records from Central Person Register

Hackers exfiltrated personal records for about 8.8 million people from Denmark's Central Person Register. The digital affairs ministry confirmed the breach on October 5, 2026, saying most of the register's contents were taken. The 11-million-record database covers current residents, expatriates and deceased persons.
