Denmark Confirms 8.8 Million Records Stolen From Central Person Register

Hackers stole personal records for about 8.8 million people from Denmark's Central Person Register, the country's national identity database. The digital affairs ministry confirmed the breach on October 5, 2026, saying most of the register was taken. The 11-million-record system holds data on current residents, Danes living abroad and deceased persons.
