Legal help lifts average Windrush payout from £11,400 to £83,200

University of Sussex-led research found the average successful Windrush compensation claim rose from £11,400 to £83,200 after legal help. One claimant initially offered nothing secured £295,000 after assistance. Rev Clive Foster has recommended the Home Office fund independent legal advice before a decision and again at review.
