
15-year-old loses hand to police grenade at French school protest in Lens
A 15-year-old protester lost his hand in Lens, northern France, on Oct. 5, local prefect François-Xavier Lauch said. La Voix du Nord reported he had picked up a police de-encirclement grenade. The IGPN police oversight body was seized to investigate, amid nationwide student protests over teacher shortages.
