Banned leader Dodik claims party victory in Bosnia election despite ballot absence

Milorad Dodik declared victory for his SNSD party in Bosnia's Oct. 4 general election at a late-night news conference. He was not on the ballot. The former president of Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-majority entity, was banned from office after conviction for defying the international envoy overseeing the 1995 peace deal.
