
Iran says Hormuz stays shut until U.S. meets seven conditions
Iran said Oct. 4 the Strait of Hormuz will stay closed until Washington meets seven conditions tied to the Islamabad memorandum and accepts Tehran's seven-day reopening plan. Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf set the terms. The waterway, carrying about one-fifth of global oil and gas in peacetime, has been largely blocked since Feb. 28 U.S.-Israeli strikes.
