Iran links Hormuz reopening to seven U.S. conditions

Iran will keep the Strait of Hormuz closed until the U.S. meets seven conditions, parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Oct. 4. The demands refer to the Islamabad memorandum and include Tehran's seven-day plan to reopen the strait. The waterway, which normally carries about one-fifth of the world's oil and gas, has been largely blocked since Feb. 28 U.S.-Israeli strikes.
