Suspected Flydubai co-pilot identified as Omani previously barred over extremist views

AP and CNN, citing sources, identified the suspected Flydubai Flight FZ1073 co-pilot as Omani national Hamam al-Hammami. The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed sources, reported Oman had previously barred him from flying over concerns he held extremist views. He allegedly attacked the captain with an axe Wednesday on the Dubai-Tel Aviv flight carrying 174 people.
