
Dutch Intelligence Warns Modern Cars Can Be Used for State Spying
The Netherlands' AIVD intelligence service warned that microphones, cameras and GPS in modern cars could be exploited by hostile states to spy on drivers. It said remote activation is technically possible in some cars, advising no confidential talks in or around vehicles. The 1 October warning named no country. Procurement rules and data controls are the likely next test.
