France and UK in Talks to End 2025 Channel Migrant Returns Deal

France and Britain are discussing ending their 2025 one-in-one-out Channel returns accord, France's interior ministry confirmed 30 September 2026. The pilot allowed Britain to detain small-boat arrivals and return them to France in exchange for admitting equal numbers legally. What replaces it will shape patrols, funding and legal routes.
