Iran upholds 74-lash sentence for singer over hijab-less performance

An Iranian appeals court confirmed 74-lash sentences for singer Parastoo Ahmadi and eight band and crew members over a December 2024 YouTube concert where she performed sleeveless without mandatory hijab. A Qom court had convicted them of "offending public decency." Lawyers say the appeal was rejected without a hearing.
