Homes evacuated near RAF Fairford in suspected explosives investigation

British police evacuated homes Sunday near RAF Fairford, a U.S.-operated base in England, after arresting five men over suspected explosives offences. Gloucestershire Police said the men were detained overnight after reports of suspicious vehicles heading toward the base and that Counter Terrorism Policing is leading the inquiry. Officers are examining suspected explosives; questioning continued Monday.
