Former Whakatāne mayor wins Eastern Bay regional council seat

Former Whakatāne mayor Victor Luca has won the Eastern Bay of Plenty seat on the Bay of Plenty Regional Council in a by-election, the council confirmed on 28 September. The vacancy followed the death in May of councillor Malcolm Campbell, 73. Luca is to be sworn in on 12 October.
